Up, Up, and Awa... oh...well almost

Well its almost time to go, we leave on our cross-country journey on Saturday. Its starting to sink in now, i think, and I don't know how to feel. The last few days have been non-stop hectic going going going. We have all of our worldly possessions stuffed into two metal crates that are *hopefully* going to make it to their ultimate destination in Appleton. We are both living out of duffel bags and sleeping on a sheetless mattress in a bare room. And right now, I still don't really accept that I am leaving, I do, but I don't. I'm sure that makes a ton of sense! I guess mainly I just don't feel like I belong anywhere. I sure as heck don't feel like I belong in Appleton yet, and I don't feel like I belong in Bellingham anymore either. Where is home? I feel like I am in a moving purgatory. Well this may be the last time I write until we get to Appleton so I guess farewell, I'll update in approximately a week and a half! We'll take tons of pictures on the road, and lets all hope we make it home with both dogs intact :) This will be fun...

Well, I just purchased our first new (to us) piece of furniture off of Appleton craigslist for our new place. Its not in perfect condition, but am I ever psyched. A 1947 Herman Miller Bar designed by Gilbert Rhode. I can't wait to fill it with vintage martini shakers, cool tumblers and hold our first cocktail party.

Packing, packing and more packing...

I had no idea I had so...much...shit...Where did it all come from? I feel like I will never be done.

Lazy Sunday Stevie

Momma gets to do laundry, pack and then more schoolwork. Stevie gets to lay on a pile of blankets. I can't complain too much, he did have to endure a bath this morning, notice the short toenails.

And then there was...the first post

Two weeks until we begin our cross-country adventure: two adults, two dogs, camping supplies and clothes all in one *very tiny* VW Beetle. Fun. Packing has begun, and the rummage sale is scheduled (August 25 and 26th for those in the area!). I'm not nearly as far as I planned to be on my thesis, so I guess that just means more work to do in Wisconsin. I don't have a job as of yet, but at least we have a place lined up (sight un-seen...scary). Well I will keep you more informed and add more pics soon!
